Macon Sister Cities Commission

Sister Cities International (SCI) is a nonprofit citizen diplomacy network that creates and strengthens partnerships between U.S. and international communities. As an international membership organization, it officially certifies, represents and supports partnerships between U.S. cities, counties, states and similar jurisdictions in other countries. Its mission is to promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, & cooperation – one individual, one community at a time.

Macon Sister Cities Commission has been a member of SCI since 2000. MSCC in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office, develops, manages and coordinates programs and projects with Macon’s six sister cities which span three continents - Asia, Africa and Europe. Its goal is to increase economic development and support cultural, educational, and social exchanges with its sister cities for the benefit of the city of Macon.
